“A Living Legacy 1938-2007”

In 1938 following the U.S Depression, a few Christians established the Belmont Avenue Mission in the city of Los Angeles. By 1940, the mission transitioned into a vibrant church bearing the same name.

At its present location, 9215 S. Avalon Blvd., the church has seen a mighty move of God by blessing the congregation spiritually, numerically and financially. Vastly approaching a 70-year existence, the members of Belmont praise God for its continuous growth, which can be attributed to a high priority on Bible study and prayer. Belmont prides itself on being an oasis; and a strong supporter of fraternal, political, economical and interfaith/religious works.

The membership is adamant about participating in local civic and community events because it extends to other the knowlege of Christ, and reinforces the points of Christ found in scripture.

The church functions under the leadership of its present pastor, Dr. Ronald Bridgette. He has a message, not a subject, from the Lord Jesus Christ to herald.

The Belmont Baptist Church grew out of the need to build the hopes and ambitions of its constituents. The general foraging of the church has been to increase the spiritual, physical, social and emotional components of man. Since 1938, the church has been blessed to have had four Pastors.

Under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Ronald Bridgette the church has been blessed to have numerous ministries; in addition, many Ministers have been birthed at Belmont Baptist and provided with the tools to begin their own work spreading the good news of Christ.

The Church has an anointed and exciting teaching ministry.  The Youth play an integral role in the Church`s Ministry as we prepare them for the future. Power packed services are attended each week. The spirit of the Lord is at liberty to move throughout any service.  The worshippers are encouraged to join in a concerted effort to make the services of the Church special. The members are warm, loving, spirit filled and most of all IN LOVE WITH JESUS!
